PHI Lab Team

Saumil Bandyopadhyay’s research in the PHI Lab is focused on developing photonic systems for artificial intelligence. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from MIT, where his S.B and M.Eng. were also conferred. Saumil’s doctoral work focused on building programmable silicon photonic processors for deep neural networks and he was a recipient of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Prior to joining NTT Research, he worked on silicon photonics as a Senior Photonics Engineer at Elenion Technologies.
