In Kazuhiro Gomi’s latest Forbes article, he reviews the time-stamping origins of blockchain and points to smart contracts as a barometer of blockchain’s viability outside of the cryptocurrency realm. He also notes that blockchain is a work in progress. Academics are identifying theoretical weaknesses and pointing out ways to increase its efficiency. And many of blockchain’s applications are to-be-determined.
