Planning Ahead for Post-Quantum Threats

How close is quantum computing to threatening existing cryptosystems? Where do we stand on the development of defenses? And what can we do now? The good news is that the kind of quantum computing that could pose a threat is not close to the required scale and that there are viable post-quantum candidates.
