NTT Science & Core Technology Laboratory Group

The research and development performed at the Science & Core Technology Laboratory Group aims to foster the creation of new, far-reaching principles and concepts, including cutting-edge components, materials, and systems.

Its research areas include futuristic communications and networks, photonic technology, and ubiquitous technology and science. The lab is working to overcome the constraints of optical fiber and limited frequency resources, aiming for previously impossible services. That includes research into materials and quantum science to achieve 100-million-times- faster computing at 1/10,000 power consumption.

Such gains will enable us to rethink the nature of communications between people, people and computers, and between computers.
The Science & Core Technology Laboratory Group consists of four sub-labs:
NTT Network Innovation Laboratories
Working to dramatically improve communications and information processing by challenging the limits of optical and wireless technologies.
NTT Device Technology Laboratories

Research to solving social issues using knowledge from the communications field, photonics-electronics convergence, and materials science, with a focus on information sharing, sustainability, and healthcare.

NTT Communication Science Laboratories

Working to building a new technical infrastructure that connects humans to information in broad terms, such as information processing and media processing related to human knowledge and emotions.

NTT Basic Research Laboratories

Conducting basic research in the fields of Materials Science, Physical Science and Optical Science to create new principles and concepts that allow us to overcome the limitations of current network technologies.
