NTT IOWN Integrated Innovation Center

Through photonics-electronics convergence, NTT aims to develop data-centric infrastructure (DCI) characterized by low latency and limited power consumption that will enable the integration of mobile and fixed networks and computing, ushering in the 6G/IOWN era.

IOWN is a framework involving devices, networks, and information processing infrastructure built on optical and other next-generation technologies to deliver high-speed, high-capacity communications and support vast computing resources.

The NTT IOWN Integrated Innovation Center is structured to further the development of IOWN by promoting cooperation between NTT Laboratories and domestic and global vendors.
The IOWN Integrated Innovation Center consists of four sub-labs:
NTT IOWN Product Design Center
Focused on IOWN service development and expansion strategies based on market needs and social demands, along with promotion of technology development, dissemination, and implementation support.
NTT Network Innovation Center
Network and access systems that support integration of fixed and mobile networks to swiftly realize the IOWN vision, along with technology development to maintain the competitiveness of existing networks.
NTT Software Innovation Center

Developing innovative, open-source software, and computing platform technologies to support the evolution of IoT and AI services while reducing IT CAPEX and OPEX costs and fostering strategic use of IT.

NTT Device Innovation Center

Engaged in development of next-generation devices and subsystems in areas that include signal processing for high-capacity networks, optical interfaces, and photonics-electronics convergence in computing.
