One of the key pillars of the IOWN research agenda is the All-Photonic Network (APN). This talk outlines the underpinning technology for the first iteration of the APN (1.0) and talks about the first practical applications of this technology to create distributed data center infrastructure. 

Katsushi Shindo and Marco Provolo explore the findings of the first trials outside of Japan of the APN technology connecting two of the NTT DATA, Inc. data centers to the north and east of London, and the NTT vision to create hyper low-latency distributed computing platforms for the financial services industry.
